The lesson focuses on the discussion and activities on the topic of aging population and old age pension.

The aims of the lesson:

Students know how to find and use reliable sources of information about population, they can analyse a population pyramid and can apply the knowledge in explaining the aging processes of a population and providing solutions to the topic-related problems in a specific country.

Students have an overview of the workforce and income, they understand the importance of long-term career planning skills as a prerequisite for subsistence and securing retirement. They also have an overview of the regulative role of governments in redistributing amenities through taxation. 

Materjali läbi töötanud õpilane oskab kasutada teabeallikaid rahvastikuinfo leidmiseks, analüüsida rahvastikupüramiidi ja rakendada omandatud teadmisi rahvastiku vananemisprotsessi selgitamisel, sellest tulenevate probleemide lahendamisel riigis.

Õpilasel on ülevaade tööjõust ja palkadest, ta mõistab pikaajalise karjääriplaneerimise tähtsust toimetuleku eeldusena ja pensionipõlve kindlustamisel, valitsuse reguleerivat rolli hüvede ümberjagamises maksude kaudu.
