Slovakia is a small country situated in Central Europe. The capital city is Bratislava.
Our school´s name is Obchodná akadémia (Business Academy) and it is run by Žilina self-governing region office. It is located in the centre of Žilina, the fourth largest city of Slovakia. Obchodná akadémia is a secondary vocational school with long history and traditions. We celebrate the 80th anniversary of its foundation this year. Our school is attended by 374 students (15 to 19 years old) and 35 teachers provide general and vocational education. Students can choose from 2 study programmes – a four-year study programme Business academy in Slovak language and a five-year Bilingual study programme (Slovak - English). The main vocational subjects are Economics, Business studies and Accounting. Financial literacy has become a very important part of education in our school.
