Never too late to learn

Being financially educated means (also) managing money with care and consciousness and this is something that mainly adults deal with. Hence, if financial literacy can be an educational investment experimented during school, which is the moment where we learn, the practical money handling happens later on in life. For this reason, we believe that the usefulness of financial literacy is more understood by adults.

Hence, Politecnico di Milano, in particular the QFinLab (the Quantitative Finance laboratory) together with the Management Engineering Department, arranges a series of lectures for university’s staff within the organization’s Welfare offer. The propose encounters enthusiasm, registering more than 200 subscriptions. For this reason, the idea of evaluating the course becomes reality: in fact, we build a Randomized Controlled Trial to evaluate the effects of the course on the participants with a pre and a post tests. We are still waiting for the results, since the course is taking place (online) in these weeks. The only aspect we can observe right now is the participation during the lectures, the attendees seem to be interested and involved in understanding the key features for loan’s choice or the investments’ possibilities. With 2021 we will discover whether the course affects also their knowledge…
