In the current period, it is necessary to perceive the growing trend of the level in financial literacy not only among students but also among the public. Financial literacy is immediately encountered by people every day. At present, however, it is possible to record different levels of financial literacy in different countries.

The pandemic caused the below-average trend to decline even further. Already in recent years, we can perceive a declining trend in the achieved level of financial literacy in the environment of the Slovak Republic. Low level, especially in the area of efficient household management and financial decision-making in individual phases of life.

In connection with the constantly declining trend in the level of perception of financial literacy in Slovakia, the media began to intensively support organizations dedicated to education in this area. The media are currently involved in supporting the increase in the level of financial literacy in Slovakia. They try to publish various papers, create online webinars for participants, promote materials. Media contributions need to be categorized into those that assess the current level of financial literacy in Slovakia and those that provide free materials for participants.

Another element used by the media are online webinars on a specific topic. They are intended for the general public, who can be educated and receive useful life advice. Experts from practice are invited to the webinars. Despite their efforts, media support for financial literacy is still insufficient. The negative is the lower time interval of media campaigns supporting the development of financial literacy in the Slovak Republic.

All these thoughts and information were also heard in the TV broadcast Teleráno, where I was invited to inform the public about how to support the level of financial literacy in Slovakia.
