Lectures for secondary schools students

On January 30, 2020, exciting lectures, attended by more than 250 grammar and secondary vocational schools students of final grades, were held at the University of Žilina.
Lectures focused on the following topics regarding Financial and consumer literacy:
- Cryptocurrencies - their characteristics and role in the current financial system
- Financial statistics
- The Financial Market: Ideas vs Reality
- Emotions and neuromarketing
- Consumer literacy
Lecturers attracted the attention of students mainly by practical examples and videos. Students were actively discussing with lecturers about financial and consumer literacy as well as the current possibilities of their increment in the countries of the European Union.
In the end, students competed online while the top five of them received diplomas and exciting prizes like a cell phone, USB flash disc, etc. All participants left more informed in the field of financial literacy.
The lectures were organised by the Department of Economics of the Faculty of PEDAS of the University of Žilina in co-operation with the Slovak Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Žilina.
