On September 27, 2019, our colleagues from the University of Zilina participated in the event European Researchers' Night with the workshop titled "How to understand money and not drown in debt".

Almost 100 people under 20 years were interested in financial literacy testing via special software tool based on Kahoot platform. All of them found testing a funny activity with big learning potential. Via fulfilling test questions focused on financial literacy, their status was being evaluated immediately – 73% of the respondents can be considered as financially literate.

The festival of science

European Researchers' Night (ERN) is annually organized event throughout Europe. The ERN is the largest of its kind in Slovakia as well as in Europe, bringing together people and researchers in 300 cities in 24 countries on the last Friday of September. The main aim of this festival is, above all, to familiarize general public with science and research. The program activities are designed to bring research out of laboratory and into the city centres, shopping malls, cafés, clubs or museums. The public can try out the latest technologies and instruments under the guidance of scientists, participate in experiments, competitions and quizzes, watch demonstrations and simulations, exchange ideas and party with the researchers.
