This database reviews some important and relevant local papers on financial literacy. The papers are written by various stakeholders, and indicate the relevant discussions on financial literacy in the Netherlands.
"Rather no money for a year than a year without internet", is the opinion of 70 % of children in the ages 9 to 12. this study was conducted in the context of the money week 2019.

Two in ten students are worried about their own financial situation, experience stress from it and cannot always pay bills on time. It is also striking that the help offered is often reactive, the student must ask for help himself. While it is precisely with financial problems that a proactive approach is required.

Twee op de tien studenten maken zich zorgen over de eigen financiële situatie, ervaart daarvan stress en kan niet altijd rekeningen op tijd betalen. Opvallend is ook dat geboden hulp veelal reactief is, de student moet zelf om hulp vragen. Terwijl juist bij financiële problematiek een proactieve benadering nodig is.

Great influence from parents has a positive effect on responsible financial behavior. In addition, it appears that influence from parents promotes women's financial behavior more than that of men. Financial education programs could be improved by taking into account the influence of parents and differences between men and women

This literature study looked at the effectiveness of financial education programs and interventions for children and adolescents. It appears that financial education programs can improve the financial knowledge and attitude of children.

This study by Money Wise shows that financial education can be effective. Lessons that are aligned with the development stage and the daily lives of children, are developed with education professionals so that they are didactically sound, and address both knowledge and skills, can have significant effect on students’ financial competences.

how can we advance responsible financial behavior? In this article, Nibud (Dutch National Institute for Family Finance Information) and Wijzer in geldzaken (money wise) demonstrate that education can be effective, as long as it is approached in the right way.
