Developing financial knowledge, skills, and habits is an important stepping stone on young people’s path to adult financial well-being. The Dutch platform Money Wise, in collaboration with the online training platform E-Wise, has launched the new online course Handling money: financial skills in secondary education. This online course is intended for secondary school teachers. Teachers learn, why it is so important to help youth develop the building blocks of financial capability at school. During the 3-hour online course, teachers obtain tools and resources that can help you teach financial literacy across the curriculum, even if you’re new to the topic.
Suzanne Elferink, program manager Education at Money Wise Platform, and Olaf Simonse, head of Money Wise Platform, are your teachers during the online course Handling money: financial skills in secondary education.
E-Wise develops online courses, consisting of several short classes for teachers from both primary education and secondary education. The online course Handling money: financial skills in secondary education, was added in May 2020.
The Money Wise Platform was launched by the Ministry of Finance to improve the financial fitness of Dutch citizens. In order to achieve this, partners from government, financial services industry, NGO’s and academia collaborate in the platform.
